Norstar voice mail and automated attendant products can provide a range of benefits for users of Norstar systems. The StarTalk family of voice mail units, as well as the more sophisticated Norstar Applications Module (NAM's) were designed specifically for Norstar telephone systems and provide seamless integration and other advantages:

• Fully integrated visual display

• Soft key interface (on the T7316, M7310, and M7324 phones)

• "Message for you" indication

• Automatic callback to internal callers

• Reduced number of steps required to retrieve messages

• Proprietary digital signaling uses 50% fewer station ports

The voice messaging system on all units, when enabled, can answer all incoming calls and route those calls to the appropriate extensions or mailboxes within the system. The voice messaging system has three main components: Automated Attendant, Mailboxes, and Custom Call Routing (CCR).
